Sunday preaching: Silverbirch Evangelical, Bangor

Sunday mornings at Silverbirch consist of two different morning services and a further service. The first service is a traditional style Brethren breaking of bread service which runs for an hour and consists of open participation. There is a coffee break followed by a family service which includes children for the first 15 minutes or so and then involves a half hour preach, which I did this morning, preaching on the story of Martha and Mary with its call from distraction to devotion.

Silverbirch is an evangelical church with Brethren roots, set in a residential part of Bangor. Up until 2002 the fellowship met in a different building in a different part of Bangor (closer to the town centre). At that time it was known as Holborn Hall. We were members here before heading to Switzerland in 1990. I first preached there almost 28 years ago.
