I don’t know anyone that goes to church anymore… On a Sunday we go to Tesco’s
So spoke Dr Alfred Jones (Ewan McGregor) in the movie, Salmon Fishing in the Yemen.
While I think it is sad that society has gone down the route of commercialism without pause, I am not particularly writing as a sabbatarian: if you need to shop in Tesco on Sunday, so be it.
But I suspect that the movie’s sentiments are more than just a throwaway couple of lines. Society is changing. Is the church taking note?
