Four pictures of leadership

I got these from a friend – an elder in his church and set to retire from a successful career in education at the end of this year.

A rope – whose simple lesson for leaders is that it cannot be pushed!

Integrity – illustrated by a seaside stick of rock: wherever you cut, you can read the name. A leader’s integrity means that his/her values will be seen in everything they are involved in.

Lighthouse – the leader’s responsibility to show the way.

A harbour wall – the leader is required to take a pounding in order to ensure a calm pool behind the wall – where the work can get done.

What do you think? Any other images that you find helpful?

(Should my friend write a book about images of leadership?)
