Leaders: a little thanks could go a long way!

I’m a parkrunner. 5 kilometres every Saturday morning. I’ve written before about some of the ways churches are a bit like parkruns. Here is one of the good examples parkruns set for churches and their leaders.

Every week, if you ask, you get a text and/or an email with the result of your most recent run. A few weeks ago I got this. Instead of running, I had volunteered to help. Lest you think me particularly virtuous, don’t miss what the text message says about how many times I have volunteered!

No doubt it’s automated, but so what? Every volunteer gets a little note to say that their help has been appreciated.

It’s one of those small things a leader can do that have the potential to make a big difference.
